Privacy Policy

Effective September 22, 2026

Discolaire operates this School Management System to provide digital tools for school operations, parent engagement, and student services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Discolaire, we may collect account, classroom, student, device, and usage information needed to operate the app. This includes:

  • Profile and contact details provided by your school or account
  • Classroom and student records entered into the service
  • Preferences and settings stored locally on your device
  • Device and diagnostic information used to keep the app reliable
  • Names, contact information, academic records, and attendance data
  • Communications and activities within the platform
  • Mobile number, SMS consent choices, consent source and time, and opt-out history when you choose text notifications

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide classroom and student management features
  • Maintain security, reliability, and support
  • Improve app functionality and user experience
  • Communicate important service updates
  • Ensure compliance with applicable education and privacy laws
  • Personalize your experience within the platform

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only when needed to provide the service, comply with law, protect safety, or work with trusted service providers under appropriate safeguards.

Mobile information and SMS consent records are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with service providers that deliver and secure messages on our behalf, subject to contractual safeguards, or when required by law.

4. Student Data

Student data should be handled by authorized school personnel only. Schools and account administrators are responsible for ensuring that their use of the app complies with applicable education and privacy laws, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and GDPR where applicable.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security protocols (SSL encryption, firewalls, secure backups) and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure. Regular security audits are performed. In the event of a data breach, affected users will be notified promptly.

6. SMS Choices

Discolaire sends transactional text messages only after you affirmatively select SMS for a stated purpose. SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of buying or using the service. You can withdraw consent at any time in your Discolaire notification settings or by emailing support@discolaire.com. We retain the request on a suppression list so no further SMS is sent unless you later provide fresh consent.

7. Your Privacy Choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting your school administrator or our support address, depending on how your account is managed.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Significant changes will be communicated via the platform or email.
